Hosted by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the Living Future Conference is one of the most impactful gatherings in the sustainable and regenerative design world. Focused on pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the built environment, the conference brings together leaders from across architecture, design, engineering, policy, and real estate to explore solutions for a thriving, sustainable and equitable future. This year’s theme, "Accelerating Regenerative Action,” includes four program tracks on climate, health, equity, and nature: Advancing Climate Innovation & Resilience, Designing for Holistic Health & Wellbeing, Fostering Equity through Regenerative Design, and Integrating Nature for a Regenerative Future.

The conference will take place in Portland, Oregon on May 6–8. It will feature:

  • Visionary keynote speakers from across the sustainability movement

  • Interactive workshops and in-depth sessions focused on frameworks like the Living Building Challenge, Zero Carbon Certification, and Just

  • Guided tours of high-performance buildings that are setting new industry standards

  • Networking opportunities with professionals shaping the future of green building

As a Living Future Accredited professional, Rachael Johnson has completed in-depth training in regenerative design strategies that go far beyond conventional green building. This accreditation reflects a deep commitment to the highest standards of sustainability—standards that don’t just aim to minimize harm, but to restore ecosystems, support human health, and cultivate social equity through the built environment. Rachael will be representing Greenwood Consulting Group at the conference and would love to connect while she’s there!

Living Future buildings are among the most advanced, performance-based structures in the world. They are designed to generate more energy than they consume, capture and purify water on-site, eliminate toxic materials, and uplift the communities around them. These buildings serve as blueprints for what’s possible—and necessary—as the industry moves forward. Please reach out to join GCG as we continue to strive for building performance that powers progress.
